Dennis Thompson

Hi all you crazy animals. DT here. I realized my bio was a bit outdated (kinda like my Reebox) so I thought I'd take a moment to let you know how my life is. I’m still Dennis Thompson, lead singer of Next to Nothing (and sometimes they let me beat on other things like drums, broken tambourine’s, Chris's headstock, etc.). I’m very happily married 10+ years and have two children (two beautiful little girls). We live in Oronoco (in case you don’t know where that is, Rochester is a suburb of it....lol). I work at Rochester Ford Toyota in the service department (been there for about 6 years).
I’ve been singing since I could talk, but never let anyone else listen till about 15-20 years ago. Next to God, family, and friends; music is my life. I listen to a very wide variety of music, kinda like N2N plays, and am always open to new ideas / sounds. I can play about any instrument that’s handed to me (although not fluent or on a professional level), including drums, guitar, bass, piano, and probably many more that I’ve never even tried….but my passion is singing (and I rule on the Triangle). I love all the 80's metal and rock bands, as well as many of the newer bands. A few of my favorite oldies are Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Ozzy, Dio, Motley Crue, etc., etc., etc., and some of my favorite newer bands are Disturbed, Shinedown and Dropbox....just to name a few.
Bands I’ve been in include: Corruption, After Hours, Unatural, and now Next to Nothing (have been with N2N since we've been N2N.) I've tried going without performing for different reasons and periods throughout my life…. but I’ve come to realize I need it. Like oxygen!!! I need all you awesome fans out there screaming in my face, point blank, and sweating your asses off with us at every show. I’d like to send out a very special thanks to all those people that have supported me over the years....you know who you are. This band is all about having a good time...an escape from the day to day normality’s of life. The other band members are a great group of guys, musicians, and above all, such good friends we’re all like brothers. If you haven’t had a chance to check us out, I urge you come, bring your friends and dancing shoes and stay all night for one night. You'll never be the same.
See you next show!
Later
DT
P.S. Remember without our fans we’re nothing….but with them we’re Next To Nothing.
