Bob Schlief
I started playing music at the age of 9 . Starting with the violin in school and moving to the guitar after my older brother got a guitar for a birthday present. I have been a professional musician since 1991. In the mid 90's, I made a move from heavy metal to country playing around the midwest with moderate success. Then in 1997 I joined the band Unatural as a guitar player.
Unatural experienced success as a rock band over the course of 4 years. After Unatural lost its singer, I took the job as lead singer and guitar player of the hard rock foursome. It was then that Unatural set attendance records at several venues. I wrote and recorded a studio demo with Unatural featuring the song "Hostile Ground" which was released world wide on the compilation CD "Race Track Rock: Volume 3" with Versailles Records out of Nashville, Tennesee.
After 8 years as Unatural's frontman and sharing the stage with bands such as Ratt, Vince Neil (of Motley Crue), Skid Row,FireHouse and even Molly Hatchet, Unatural went on extended Hiatis.
I decided to take a break and took a year away from music to spend time with my elderly dog and best buddy, Babe. Babe passed away in 2009 and now I'm back to rock with Next to Nothing!
I have written over 50 songs, played over 300 gigs and I am looking forward to the next 300!!
